Here Goes Again

Well, once again it's that time of the month. Time to do the month-end routine.
I've been too lazy to write up the process and also because it seems like a simple process, although it's anything but. If it were as simple as it seems I would be clicking it off and running to the races with a new month-end ready system each time I sit down to perform the exercise.
Unfortunately, the process is anything but quick and easy although it sure does seem like it should be. I guess mixing in the new month with the new post makes it a bit more difficult, but not to the extent that has occurred.
Oh, and having to do some of these things only once per month makes the routine a bit more difficult to remember, and therefore perform. I guess it's all in the planning and documenting that makes it easier.
I need to get on with adding documentation to my routine. If I forget to do something the debugging process has taken far too long in some months.
Perhaps allowing myself to think that I have simplified the process sufficiently has been my problem from day one, that along with my still apparent failure to document the process.
More About Writing

I'm really enjoying this comfortable writing stuff. The whole idea of making the task fun and easy is what it's all about. And you can't get more fun and easy than taking the approach I'm currently utilizing.
Writing ahead is what makes everything so simple. There just no time pressure so things tend to come together much more quickly and easily when I'm not facing a deadline.
Today was a day full of technology. Patty is going back to writing and wants to finish up some works in progress. We had to sneak up to the corner store to pick up some computer stuff. I was not only impressed that they carried what we needed, but I was amazed at the low prices.
Patty called ahead to make sure they had everything we needed. I remember hearing her quote the price for one piece of equipment and figured that it must be a piece of junk at that price. Boy was I wrong.
I really enjoy running tech support for my lovely wife since she's quite the savvy user. I don't mind a bit hooking things up for her. She's such a confident typist and really understands the things she needs to do her job, and how they work together.
She formats books and builds book trailers with the greatest of ease. I doubt I could do all she does if my life depended on it. The fact that she figured out how to do everything and never needed any help from me is both wonderful and amazing.
Workouts and Runs

When I just do my runs on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays the heart rate doesn't jump too high since there is no workout on the front ends of those days.
On the other days when I do both the heart rate jumps on up where I want it to be since those days include both a workout and a run.
Even with regular workouts I don't tend to bulk up with too much muscle. I suppose I will always have a runner's physique. It just always seems to be the norm for me.
What A Blessing

What a blessing it is to receive calls from our two kiddos. At a time where it is not the norm, it's really quite an honor.
It's so easy to take it for granted but one need not look much further than other families and stories we hear and read to realize how grateful we feel to have married kids who want to reach out to us.
At a time when we're all going against the culture and the cultural norms, it's so good to know that we have kids who want to and are willing to do that. It speaks of something very special.
It's also a blessing to have a sister who wants to come see us and is willing to reach out like that. And what a big blessing to have a wife who sees all of this for what it really is and adds a special blessing.
As I have said so many times before, what a blessed man I truly am.
My Sister

My sister (Jane), and her husband (James), paid a visit to the family of their oldest and also swung by our place to spend last night with us. We had a great visit with them which included an evening meal at Pruett's and some of Patty's amazing home cooking for breakfast today.
It was particularly good to see the gals together. There was a whole lot of reminiscing going on between all of us and a lot of good and healthy laughter.
It was the first time that the Johnson family has visited our place and we had a good laugh about the drive in and particularly the last mile and a half, including our steep driveway. I think the Johnson family enjoyed meeting Lily and she made her usual appearances and trips out in the cold weather.
We shared with them about the steep yard and James laughed and said the same
think I had said (it doesn't look that steep from up here on the back deck.) I
explained the challenges associated with yard care and why we feel it is
important to have it all done for us. As we all peered at the yard together,
no one seemed to disagree.
I'm Not in Charge

Well, I could call this a timely post but I don't want to expend the effort to insert it and bump everything else out a bit further. So I'm going to write it on Wednesday the 19th and publish it on Sunday the 23rd and expect my few readers to notice the date written versus the date published for this post.
God keeps providing me with opportunities to make sure I've turned control over to Him and am not keeping it for myself. Boy, that's a tough one to manage in such a way that I put Him first by trusting him.
I had to take Patty to the Gadsden Medical Center (which is about 45 minutes under good conditions) and everything seemed to be moving forward for her 6 AM appointment, despite the ominous looking weather. I was so sure that everything would (and should) be cancelled due to the weather.
Such was not the case and I wasn't handling it at all well. Despite how poorly I handled things, God got the last laugh. You see, He knew what the rest of the crowd apparently knew about the weather. There was light rain on the way to the see the doctor, and no rain on the way home (despite the forecast for a wintry mix.) I even got to treat my wife to a much needed breakfast out.
When will I ever learn who's really in charge? Apparently everyone else knew
except me.
And God bless Patty for her ability to see things as they were and to demonstrate patience in the midst of a trying situation that was really about her doctor's visit. Lord, teach me to be more like my wife in such situations.
Hair Cutting

Today is President's Day. But, I don't have much to say on that topic. I'm going to delve into cutting my hair since I've been doing it for a long time and since there is less and less for me to cut.
I don't keep a beard like the man in the picture because mine is multi-colored and makes me look much older than I am.
I watched a YouTube video about guys cutting their own hair and thought to myself, 'How hard can it be?' Well, it's trickier than I thought.
If it weren't for the touch-up assistance provided by my wife at the tail end, it would be even trickier for my skill to use a mirror on the back of my neck would need to be better than it is. As things stand right now, my kind soulmate does a neck trim and that helps a lot.
I have 3 cutting guards that I use. I have a 2 inch guard that I start with and make sure that I use it so that nothing is longer than that on my entire head.
I have a 3/16 guard that I use for my eyebrows. They're getting to be two-toned and the 3/16 guard doesn't do much to help that.
Finally, I have a 1/2 inch guard that I use on the sides of my head. I part my hair between the side and the top and use the 1/2 guard up to the part but not above.
Oh, I also have a growing bald spot on the crown (back/top of my head)
and I use that as a guide for the back to which I also apply the 1/2 inch
guard up to that spot. The two inch hair on top helps with covering that
spot. (Just not as much as it used to and not as much as I wish it still
did, LOL!)
Snackish

It was Valentine's day in 2025 and Patty and I were feeling 'snackish.' Pictured above is her solution to the problem.
In typical 'kind and sweet' Patty fashion, she offered to put together the same thing for me. I opted to follow her lead on the cheese and heart wafers, but declined on the grapes.
In retrospect, I should have followed her lead entirely but in typical 'I've got to be different' Hutch fashion, I opted to forgo the grapes. Looking back that was a dumb mistake on my part.
Patty's cheese slices and heart shaped wafers were a perfect afternoon snack
and the wine was also amazing. I'll bet the grapes were too.
Comfortable Writing

Why is writing ahead so comfortable? It's because there's no pressure on a delivery date.
But if I have to insert a prioity post in all of these comfortably written posts, it's going to take some real time and effort to pull it off. I'm going to have to have the write stuff to do it.
I know, that was really bad. I know what you're thinking and it's not pretty. Give me a break. After all, I'm not asking for money or a subscription for what I'm posting here.
When I went looking for a picture to put in my 'Comfortable Writing' post, I couldn't find anything that grabbed me the right way. After all, I'm not tying to place my hand, or my entire body (for that matter) in a comfortable position. I'm not writing a traning piece either. This is not complicated.
This is just a post about why it's comfortable to write ahead and, like I said, the simple answer to the question is because there is no time pressure.
If I don't feel like writing I can simply fall back on something I've already put together. Well, that is as long as I have something on which to fall back.
So, my objective should be to avoid any pressure. And the simple way to do that is to keep active in the write-ahead category. The more I write ahead, the less pressure that comes from the effort and the more enjoyable the entire effort becomes.
I think I'm going to add a new category to my list. Writing! So, there you go and here goes! I will probably go back and add a few recent posts to that category.
Gmail Email Addresses
Published for Wednesday - February 19, 2025

The Gmail people tell us that dots don't matter in our email addresses. Apparently we own the non-dotted (underlying) address so when Google adds a dot (for example) between the first and last name it's not supposed to hurt anything.
Hey Google! I beg to differ with you on that. It's cased me troubles twice and I can't explain why, but it did create a problem for me. Twice!
I signed up for an Audible account well over a year ago. I did so with a non-dotted email gmail account. Now I went to Audible and recently cancelled my subscription.
I should not have received a credit when my next credit would have been due. Unfortunately, I did receive a credit. I called the good folks at Audible customer service and explained my cancellation.
They mentioned that my dotted account name is the one that received a credit. Apparently, Google inserts the dot.
Anyway, the Audible technician asked me how I liked to receieve my email and I told the guy I have never added a dot to my account, not in sending, receiving, or the setup of the Google email account.
He noted that the extra dot was the problem. It must have been something that Google sent since I did not. Anyway, he changed my account to a non dotted email address in Audible and things have worked correctly since, that is unless I receive another credit next month. Please work correctly next month, please! (I'm saying to myself.)
There's no way I can explain what happened since the cancellation and the new credit both came to my Google Gmail account. So the big questions rmain as to how that dot get in my email address in Audible and why it was causing me problems?
My Faith

As I have said before, sharing my faith is about the most important thing I can write about here on my blog. It's an item that is most important to me.
Whether the point is to share a specific idea, or a thought provoking topic, or just to share for the sake of sharing, there's always something good and interesting to write about. I don't have to give it much thought for it is such a rich topic and so full of meat as some of us tend to say in the Christian community.
The after-life will be interesting. No one really knows what to expect but countless books and articles have been written about it anyway. I say that because that's where my faith has to kick in. Sure the Bible has lots to say on the topic but our imagination has probably won out in that respect.
My wife thinks a lot about the topic. As for me, not so much. I'll just take it as it comes - whatever that looks like.
I love movies that in one way or another explore the topic. Sometimes it's not so much an academic exercise as an emotional journey. However delving into the topic happens, it's most always an interesting trip.
www.biblestudytools.com has an article titled, '21 Verses About What Heaven Will Be Like.' Another popular site, www.crosswalk.com shares an article titled, '10 Things All Christian Should Know About Heaven' and www.christianity.com shares, 'What is Heaven Like According to the Bible?'
I like the always academic slant of Dr. William Lane Craig's Reasonable Faith ministry and He has a thought-provoking article about how we will be different in heaven. It's from an October 2017 interesting question of the week.
Here's a spell-checked and corrected copy of the question:Here is the unedited question and Dr. Craig's Response.
I have been asking questions about my next life in heaven with the Lord and have yet to find a pastor or Sunday school teacher willing to discuss the issues I want to talk about. Take for instance the question of will heaven be an extension of our earthly life? Will we have interactions with our family members and earthly friends? Do you believe we will be walking on 'streets of gold'? If so why will that be such a big deal? Will we be living in luxurious mansions? If we liked playing Gin Rummy on earth will we play Gin in Heaven? You get the idea. In other words will the heavenly Bob be the same earthly Bob.
Timely Post

So, here's an example of a timely blog post. I had to insert it in place and bump the pre-written and blank posts out one spot. There was more effort required than I had anticipated.
Last night was a strange night. The thunder and lightning woke me up. But once I was awake I realized something.
First of all, it was between 1 and 2 am. Next, I was soaking wet. I had changed things up just a bit and paid a dear price for it.
I was soaked because I had the big blue cover all to myself and Patty was using the heavy cover. I had folded the big blue cover in half and had it doubled up on top of me. I slept wonderfully but that's also why I was soaking wet.
I had placed my ipad by my bed and cut it on as I had planned to do. Unfortunately, Ryan Hall was talking about the storms in every location except Alabama. I must admit I was impressed that he was still going strong.
Anyway, I made the change to my iPad weather system and sure enough the storms were right on top of us as the weather map indicated.
I grabbed two towels and tried to make a dry spot to sleep in. After lots of effort I was able to do it because the next thing I know the cat's in our bed and trying her best to wake me up.
I got on up and the morning routine was pretty much the same as usual from there. The main exception was that I looked outside to see what the wind had moved out of place. To my surprise most everything was okay despite how much wind and rain had rolled through.
The deck sofa was moved as usual but all of the pillows were still in place. I did notice that the upper deck was soaked. That would suggest there was a northernly flow to the wind despite the forecasted SW winds.
Finally the dead big tree in the back hard shed another big limb that I will have to get and throw into the woods behind the house. I'll probably wait until things dry out a bit before I tackle that job.
Oh, by the way, I was also impressed that the cleanup I had perfomed during the day yesterday had held up. That's especially with the northern air flow that I mentioned earlier.
Non-Timely Posts
Published for Sunday - February 16, 2025

Written Friday - 02/14/25 08:50 AM
So, what qualifies a post as a non-timely post? That's an easy question to answer.
It's nothing that's date specific or a trending topic in the world. Date specific things and trending topics (such as the weather or a Holiday) don't fit into the non-timely category for obvious reasons.
I mentioned Ryan Hall Y'all as an internet weather junkie. I shared that my wife is a faithful follower and that she put me onto him. If I were to share one of his weather related ideas that would probably make it a timely post. In fact, most all of his thoughts are pretty timely.
A spiritual post on the other hand could easily fit into the non-timely category. Spiritual posts contribute to our lives as they are posted, when ever that might be.
On the other hand, if a well known spiritually oriented person passes away, that would make it a timely bit of news and probably of immediate interest to those of us who are spiritually minded.
Struggle

Well, I'm sure I'll continue to struggle with so many things about this blog, but I've come up with one solid idea. From now on I know when I'm going to write a post.
I'm going to sit down and write multiple posts way ahead of their publication date. If something timely appears, I'll either add it as an addendum or I'll write it for an immediate post - probably for the next day.
I doubt I'll be writing many addendums for they tend to be difficult to manage. If I want to write a timely post and publish it in a more timely fashion, I'll just put it in place of one of the multiple (non-timely) posts and bump that (non-timely) post out to the next available post opening.
That way, timely posts always take priority, but to earn a higher priority a post is going to have to clearly demonstrate that it is truly a timely post.
In other words, to clearly earn a spot of importance and bring about the overhead to replace another post, a higher priority post will have to justify the extra effort that will be involved.
Bottom line, this means that for the most part I can write comfortably and insert priority posts when necessary. I think this is going to work well.
Happy Valentine's Day

It's February 14 and that's when we celebrate Valentine's Day. So, especially to the ladies ,and to my beautiful wife, Happy Valentine's Day!
Artificial Intelligence or AI suggests that Valentine's day is a day to celebrate love and affection, especially romantic love. It lists it as being celebrated on February 14th, the date of publication for this post.
Valentine's day originated as a Roman festival called Lupercalia and was held in mid-February. The Catholic Church Christianized the holiday and dedicated it to St. Valentine, a martyr who lived in the 3rd century A.D.
Missed It By That Much

Can you imagine being a female and being born one day before or after Valentin's Day?
As I publish it's one day before Valentine's Day. What if today was your birthday? Would it be overshadowed in your own mind by Valentine's Day?
Remember the TV show, 'Get Smart?' Remember that famous line delivered by Maxwell Smart? You know, when he says to his chief, 'Missed it by that much.'
What would it have been like to have your birthday fall on one side or the other of Valentine's Day? You literally missed it by that much!
Imagine how it might be if your Birthday fell on Valentine's Day. Think how nice and easy it would be to be able to say that to friends and family.
Wouldn't that be easier than asking people to remember one day before or after? Maybe not having to deal with that at all is a better thing. .
I always felt bad for those who shared a birthday with something like Christmas. I had a friend whose parents named a day in June. They called it Son's Day. That's when he would get his birthday presents since his real birth date was Christmas Day. What a nice thing to do for their son.
The Trinity
Published for Wednesday - February 12, 2025

Written Tuesday - 02/11/25 04:10 PM
In one fashion or another, the Trinity is most likely a mystery to most of us who depend on it. We take it for granted. But, should we?
We often speak of Jesus and think of God as His Heavenly Father. But if the trinity is the trinity, is that the way we should speak of Jesus and think of God the Father?
And what about the Holy Spirit? Don't we tend to see Him as a wise counselor who provides wisdom and insight to meet our needs? How then should we view him if the Trinity is the Trinity?
The Trinity is a Christian doctrine that states God exists as three divine persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The three persons are formally defined as 'consubstantial' which basically means that they share the same essence.
Essence has multiple definitions. From what I saw, I'm not sure any of them do much for the definition of the Trinity.
For our purposes, Essence is defined as the essential nature of something. People use 'cute' analogies to teach the Trinity such as the idea that a cell phone is one item that does multiple things.
I suspect we owe the Trinity much more than this level of 'cuteness.' After all, doesn't it fill a critical role in the Christian faith?. And doesn't it sit as pivotal to our beliefs?
D.O.G.E.

Twitter, now known as 'X', is busy keeping the D.O.G.E. theme alive! Here's the latest as posted by Elon Musk and from the D.O.G.E. team:
The @DOGE team just discovered that FEMA sent $59 Million Dollars last week to luxury hotels in New York City to house illegal migrants.
Sending this money violated the law and is in gross insubordination to the President's executive order.
The money is meant for American disaster relief and instead is being spent on high-end hotels for illegals.
A claw-back demand will be made today to recoup those funds.
Based on the information provided in the X posts and related web results, during the Trump administration in 2018, nearly $10 million was transferred from FEMA to ICE (US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.)
The reallocation was part of a broader effort to cover an additional $200 Million needed by ice to detain and deport more migrants than initially anticipated.
The funds were taken from FEMA's routine operating expenses. The reallocation highlights a controversial shift in policies where funds intended for disaster preparedness and response were redirected to support immigration enforcement, sparking debate over the appropriate use of federal disaster relief funds.
Weight Management

Written Sunday - 02/09/25 04:35 PM
Okay! Weight is something I feel I have almost given up on. I really don't know the difference between good weight management and the weight of my muscles.
I used to laugh when someone talked about the weight of their muscles when we both knew that it was the eating and not the muscles that were increasing their weight. But now, here I am in the exact same place as those I chuckled at when they made such comments.
My arms are very lean and my legs are very muscular from all of the running. I can see my abs but they're not cut in appearance. So how is it that all of this is working for me and yet the scales say otherwise and have for a while now.
I've battled with the physique of a runner and a bit of the battle involves what I am able to hide from myself. I've had that battle for far too long. I guess the truth is that I just don't want to eat like a body builder. I bumped off about 35 pounds but now I'm back up some 15 pounds or so.
I could be concerned about those 15 pounds I've gained or I could pat myself on the back for the 20 pounds that I have kept off. Perhaps that's the real issue I'm facing.
I sort of understand how Karen Carpenter must have felt in her last days. She could gain and lose weight at will but she never felt very good about herself. Believer me, I'm not going to do what she did, but I need to understand what it is I'm doing versus what it is I want to do and accomplish. I think she didn't have the knowledge to put a plan in place.
I think the real take-away from this post is my eating. I either need to manage it better or stop trying to manage it until I know what it is that I'm trying to accomplish with the appearance of my body.
Signal Reports

I couldn't link up with other countries this morning. Try as I might there were just no contacts to be made and no connections to be had.
Now when I talk about contacts and band conditions I'm usually referring to other countries. Not those closer by in the states.
I decided to give it another go this afternoon. I had to really fight to get 5 contacts and that was all there was to be had.
I decided to go for the full 15 contacts and did so with a lot of help from the states. Interesting thing was that the signal reports I was receiving were very similar to the ones I was sending out.
I'm quite used to connecting with other countries but the signal reports I receive are always much worse then the ones I send out. Such was not the case today with my state contacts.
I'm not sure what that says about my antenna but it can't be too bad. I'm running on lower power to save the rig-life but that was enough to make the 15 contacts with the bulk of them being in the states and with similar reports to the ones I was sending out, as I mentioned.
That's a good thing. I'll take it!
Since I'm talking about signal reports I should mention that they are very different when it comes to digital versus voice. In the digital world they are usually provided on a scale of +24 to -24, obviously with +24 being better.
Digital reports are provided by the computer in conjunction with the rig. I'm told that digital signal reports directly reflect upon the noise level and are much more difficult to measure accurately.
RST represents 'Readability', 'Strength', and 'Tone' (when applicable) and is the way voice signals are reported. These use the radio's signal report and are captured and reported using the radio's reporting feature, as seen in the image above.

A few days ago, I wrote a post titled 'Which Church Do You Attend? At the end of that post, I commented it was to be continued. This is the continuation.
I finished up the post with a comment about how I would have to stand before God in judgement one day. I was referring to Romans 14:10-12 where it says: 'For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.'
It is my sincere belief that this judgement will appear as is found in Isaiah 1:18 where it says: 'Come now and let us reason together, saith the Lord...'
It will not be a formal matter and most of all it will not be like a court of law. It will be a time where we can present ourselves as best we understood based on God's word.
And so, let us each stay before God in our day-to-day lives so that our account might be a good one. Let us be faithful to that with which we have been charged and let us find ourselves accountable to all matters and all things for which we have have been given oversight.
I believe God is not a mean God but is rather a fair and just God in all matters. Let us keep that in mind as we are called to go before Him.
Investing

I've been very fortunate in the world of investing. My typical pattern has been very good to me, until very recently.
I got caught in a trading pattern instead of an investing pattern and was quite fortunate not to lose more than I did. Total loss was $379.00 I was trading for a $500 gain and jumped out for the loss when the market took a big jump in the wrong direction.
My buy and hold produced a similar result but the fact that I went into things with a more long-term perspective produced wonderful results. When I decided to move to a trading strategy that's when things turned south and then made a quick recovery while I was out of the market.
Truth is, I don't have a very good temperament for buy and hold patterns of investing. It's too easy to slide into dangerous patterns of trading and forgo the longer term view of things.
I went into the world of investing knowing that I'm older and don't really face the same financial needs that I did as a younger person. For that reason, I think I'll step away indefinitely.

Yesterday is not the post title to reflect upon the Beatles song of the same name. It's the post title for a very different reason.
You see, as I write it's the 4th of February. That's an important date because it is the birthday of Patty's mom, Martha. And as you read, it's yesterday.
She passed a few years back in January of 2021 and at the age of 91. If she were still alive yesterday would have been her 95th birthday.
You can read more about her passing on January 1 and 2 in the 2021 archive. You can also read more about her stroke on December 30 and 31 in the 2020 archive.
Which Church Do You Attend?
Published for Tuesday - February 04, 2025

Written Monday - 02/03/25 06:55 PM
One of the most difficult questions I face these days is 'Which Church Do You Attend?' The reason it's such a difficult question is because I don't attend 'Church' in the conventional or traditional sense.
That's not to say that I am not a Christian. I am a Christian and a follower of Jesus Christ and am a believer in His Word (the Bible) but find myself highly frustrated with the direction of 'the church' these days.
I am part of a community who finds 'Church' a terribly misunderstood thing by so-called members of the faith. I am part of a virtual community who does not want to play 'the church' game any longer. In other words, I don't want to support a 'church' that lives by goals that are as unscriptural as it gets.
I don't want to be a part of something for the sake of being a part of something. I'm not trying to be a super-spiritual looking person. In fact, I don't want to look religious at all.
One day I will have to stand before Jesus Christ. The question is, what will that experience be like? What will He say and how will I respond?

Preparing a Good Post

I don't know. This writing the evening before publication puts me at risk of failing to write a post here on my blog because of simple distractions.
But I also understand that writing ahead places the entire blog at risk based on the relevance factor that I described in a previous post. If I write too far ahead how relevant will the post be?
I guess the real question is whether or not I want to write posts in the morning or the evening. Writing in the evening is a better all-around experience for me but also places posts at risk for relevance.
if I wait a full day to publish. Writing in the morning may be better in terms of keeping the post closer to it's publication date but is more difficult in terms of trying to wake up enough to come up with a good idea for a post and to execute on preparing a good post for that topic or idea.
So, perhaps I should decide what constitutes a good post and work from that direction. Let's see...
For me a good post consists of some or all of the following:
* Pertinent content
* Entertaining content
* Honest content
* Timely content
* Interesting content
* Vulnerable content
A Spiritual post is always a good place to start. That requires waiting upon God if it is to meet the other criteria I have listed here.
Of course I have other topics that interest me here on my blog and if one of those topics has a pressing matter, then it might serve as a good starting point.
As for what I started out writing about in this post, I'm leaning toward writing a post in the evening and publishing it the next morning (or possibly the same evening that I wrote it if I feel up to it and it seems right for that particular instance.)
I think I'll give that a try and see how it works out. Seems like it should be a good (and flexible) solution for my issue.
Oh and I still want to follow through with creating a blog post for each and every day. Not sure why (since a huge readership is not the ultimate goal here.) But, that's the plan until I change my mind.
The Break Is Over

Well, time to get started once again with the blogging. In fact, I need to lump in weight training, running, ham radio, and of course blogging.
I took a break from everything as was mentioned in an earlier post and now it's time to get caught up and move to a new month in this new year in which I already find myself.
Allie has been with us for the week to celebrate Patty's crossing the 70 yard line of life. She departs early tomorrow and with that departure it's time to pick up where I left off.
Oh, and I agree with Patty that it has been a wonderful week of celebration! It's also been pleasant for Lily the cat to join us in so many of the festivities.
Both of the kids were here to celebrate and Amy too In a few months Patty and I will visit Josh and Allie with the grandsons and get a good look at their new residence in Germany, not to mention a visit to some of the sights, some close and some not so close.
